Bio
Originally from Kohat in KPK, lives and works in Karachi. He completed his BFA from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi (2003). Habib has been exhibiting his practice extensively especially on the local circuit, in some of the leading galleries Canvas Art Gallery, Koel Gallery, V.M Art Gallery, Art Chowk the Gallery, IVS Gallery and also participating in international shows in Dubai, U.A.E with Carbon 12, as well as most recently working with AB Gallery, Luzern, Switzerland and having his work shown at Scope Basal 2013, Abu Dhabi Art Fair 2013, Moscow Biennale (2014).
Artist Statement
What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger comes from an aphorism of the 19th century German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. It has been translated into English and quoted in several variations, but is generally used as an affirmation of resilience. It has been quoted, paraphrased, and parodied by politicians.
