Pakeeza, 2022, Jaffar Raza Jafri
Pakeeza spends her day at Quran recital practice while Aqsam serves tea to the customers at his father’s shop. After work Aqsam goes to pick Pakeeza up but on this particular day when Aqsam reaches the mosque, Pakeeza is nowhere to be found. When Pakeeza eventually does show up, she completely ignores Aqsam to his bemusement, that’s when the confusion sets in and puts a strain on their relationship. The film and its locations act as a microcosm of the hypocritical nature of the society they live in.
